Sunday, December 8, 2013
Sean, Brooks, Greg, Andrew, Gary and Lynn reunite for this epic anniversary event! They mostly talk about themselves and the show, but they do manage to work in a little discussion about Wes Anderson, Dollhouse and Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. This is the first in what promises to be a series of self-indulgent conversations celebrating this TVAMD milestone.
Also, just to set the record straight, Sean does not think it's a good idea to enslave hot girls. It seemed like a funny thing to say, but out of context it sounds pretty terrible.
Sunday, November 24, 2013

Saturday, November 23, 2013

Sean, Andrew, Gary and Lynn return to the A Nightmare on Elm Street series to examine Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. There is also the looming threat of a Freddy's Nightmares retrospective, but let's jump off that bridge when we get to it.

Sean, Lynn and Andrew talk about The World's End and similar apocalypse movies like This Is The End.
Plus they spend a lot of time talking about horror movies like Insidious 2, Sinister, Mama, Orphan and Don't Be Afraid of the Dark.
This one's not 100% work-friendly. There's a lot of discussion about the horror movie cliche' of the dips**t dad, so they say dips**t dad a bunch of times.
Saturday, October 19, 2013

Sunday, August 25, 2013
In this precursor to our episode on The Conjuring, Sean, Greg, Lynn and Andrew talk about scary movies like Sinister, Insidious, and Saving Private Ryan (the conversation jumps around a lot). There's also some discussion of evil apes and monkey bites with a little time dedicated to the cosplay controversy of hot women who wear skimpy outfits even if they may not fully understand the back story of the character they are currently sexying. Our position on this very serious issue may just shock you.
THE FOLLOWING IS BASED ON A TRUE STORY... Did I ever tell you about the time I died? Yeah, probably not. That's a good setup for a story though, right? I have told this story before. For the sake of those involved I omitted some of the more bizarre elements, but as the years have gone by I have come to realize that the full details must be made known. What if the unexplained incident that occurred that St. Patrick's Day in downtown Savannah were to be repeated elsewhere? It's irresponsible to withhold what little I know of it, especially in light of the fact that no one else seems to remember. This is the story of how all Hell broke loose one night in Savannah, how the end of the world was very nearly the result of it, and how I was put in a position to stop it just by deciding to stay home.
In this installment of "Apocalypse Party" by Sean Gilbert, difficult questions are asked and answered and argued about, such as which section of a human centipede would you rather be?
Saturday, August 24, 2013
Sean and Andrew talk about the Conjuring and other James Wan films like Insidious. They also talk about the real-life Warrens and the true story of the demon-possessed doll Annabelle. Then they get scared like little girls and recount some of their own paranormal experiences.
Pictured below: The real life Annabelle with the real life Warrens. You can read her story at Badass Digest or download the full story for your Kindle.

Sean, Greg, Lynn and Andrew pay tribute to the New Doctor Who. And giant robots, and Aaron Sorkin, and Game of Thrones, and Star Wars and Star Trek, and tipping waitresses, Lando Calrissian and DragonCon, drop bears, cargo pants, and didgeridoos. Just another regular show, folks...
Sunday, August 11, 2013
In what will certainly be a series of episodes focusing on Dr. Who's 50th Anniversary, Sean, Lynn, and Andrew take some time to recap the finale of the latest series of Dr. Who. They also talk about Sharknado, get Lynn's thoughts on Game of Thrones and there is a surprise appearance by VRON! Less surprising, now that I just told you about it, but does anybody really read these episode blurbs?

Saturday, July 27, 2013
Sean, Greg and Andrew return to finish their discussion of Superman. They talk about Superman's quest for peace as he tries to rid the world of nuclear weapons like his atomic hair clone. They also talk about the Superman movies that never happened. Written by Kevin Smith? Directed by Tim Burton? Starring Nicholas Cage? Or Sean Penn? Fighting Brainiac and giant spiders over the fate of the bottled city of Kandor? Those are a few of the things that could have been a part of a Superman movie before Superman Returns and Man of Steel hit the screens.
Sunday, July 7, 2013
Sean, Greg and Andrew begin their long talked about retrospective of the Christopher Reeve Superman movies. They discuss how Richard Donner's vision eventually eroded into what became Superman 2 and led to Superman 3, Bryan's Singer's effort to pay homage to Donner in Superman Returns, the fast-paced landscape of movie marketing in today's world as opposed to when Superman: the Movie was released in 1978 and, yes, how all of this led up to Man of Steel.

"S" is for "Spoiler", by the way. We talk about the movie plot and specific story elements, so you might want to watch the movie before listening.

And if you're playing the TVAMD drinking game, you now have to take a drink any time they talk about Game of Thrones outside of the TV on the Throne podcast.
Monday, May 27, 2013
Sean and Andrew reflect on the year in TV, comparing the plot and character development of the latest season of The Walking Dead to more successful shows like Game of Thrones and the short-lived Firefly. How did Firefly manage to show so much of the characters and story in such a short amount of time, when other shows never seem to understand where the story should be headed? And does it all trace back to the Greedo Effect? Did Lucas inadvertently create a generation of hack writers and hardcore heroes by stripping that one scene in Star Wars of its moral ambiguities?
Plus, Andrew watches Downton Abey. Just sayin'...
Sunday, May 26, 2013
To tease the upcoming episodes of TV Ate My Dinner, Sean, Lynn and Andrew talk about Star Trek, Iron Man, World War Z, Pacific Rim, The World's End and the Perks of Being a Wallflower. You know, all the summer blockbusters.

The Bear and the Maiden Fair: Sean and Andrew discuss ass and strategy in the seventh episode of Season Three. The characters in this episode are mostly torn between duty and desire, forced to choose between the loyalties they've been bred for and the personal allegiances they've chosen. Plus someone fights a bear.
Tuesday, May 14, 2013

That's balls, man...

Sunday, April 28, 2013
And Now His Watch Is Ended: Sean, Lynn and Andrew talk about misperceptions of power and loyalty in the latest episode of Game of Thrones. There is some speculation as to where the intrigues of this season are headed and a comparison between the failing philosophies of the Night's Watch and the Jedi Knights. It was only a matter of time until we starting making Star Wars comparisons, folks...
Sunday, April 21, 2013
Sean, Gary and Andrew talk about the new Evil Dead remake and what it might mean for the future of the franchise, the return of Ash and a possible Army of Darkness 2.
There is also some talk of Star Wars action figures and other 80's toy lines like GI Joe, Transformers and MASK. And the subject of Prometheus comes up again, but only briefly.
Saturday, April 20, 2013
Walk of Punishment: Sean, Andrew and Gary dissect the latest Game of Thrones episode. The brutality of war and the questionable ethics of the nobility that starts wars is a big focus of the discussion, but it quickly degenerates into an awkward examination of how prominently the threat of rape factors into this episode and the show in general.
